NOW Music proudly presents NOW That’s What I Call Soft Rock & Power Pop Anthems – an incredible collection of 77 era-defining and enduring tracks from some of the most iconic names in music on a 4CD set, capturing powerful ballads, explosive pop productions, and unforgettable hooks - showcasing the very best of soft rock and power pop!

CD1 opens in triumphant style with Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’, before a run of classic ballads from Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Heart with the unforgettable ‘Alone’. Cher’s ‘I Found Someone’ and Laura Branigan’s ‘Self Control’ sit alongside Alice Cooper’s ‘Poison’ and Poison’s ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’. Marillion’s ‘Kayleigh’, Foreigner’s ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ and The Cars’ ‘Drive’ are three of the ‘80’s biggest ballads, while Huey Lewis & The News’ ‘The Power Of Love’ brings the energy and a soundtrack classic. The highlights continue with Pretenders’ ‘Back On The Chain Gang’ and Toto’s enduringly popular ‘Africa’. Essential tracks follow from REO Speedwagon, Rick Springfield, Pat Benatar and Kim Carnes before the disc closes with a pair of the ‘70’s biggest love songs, both #1s: Chicago with ‘If You Leave Me Now’, and 10cc with ‘I’m Not In Love’.

Epic pop opens CD2 with Electric Light Orchestra’s ‘Mr. Blue Sky’, followed by Gerry Rafferty’s timeless ‘Baker Street’ and Meat Loaf’s massive ‘90s #1‘I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That)’. Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’ – another #1 single and one of the defining hits of the genre is here alongside more #1s from T’Pau with ‘China In Your Hand’ and Belinda Carlisle’s ‘Heaven Is A Place On Earth’. Ultimate driving tracks are up next from Jane Wiedlin, Chris Rea with ‘The Road To Hell Pt. II’ and Roy Orbison’s ‘I Drove All Night’ alongside radio gold from Joan Armatrading, Daryl Hall & John Oates and Steve Winwood. Mr. Mister hit the top in the US with ‘Broken Wings’ and Eric Carmen scored a hit with ‘Hungry Eyes’ from the ‘Dirty Dancing’ soundtrack. Martika and Will To Power enjoyed big power-pop hits, and Gary Moore & Phil Lynott scored a huge hit together with ‘Parisienne Walkways’…while Roxy Music complete Disc 2 with the sophisticated ‘Avalon’, the title track of their 1982 #1 album.

CD3 opens with Bruce Springsteen’s global smash ‘Dancing In The Dark’, before Philip Bailey & Phil Collins’ #1 duet ‘Easy Lover’. Tina Turner’s power-pop anthem ‘The Best’ is next ahead of Alannah Myles with ‘Black Velvet’, Toto’s second appearance with ‘Rosanna’ and Journey’s all-time classic ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’. Kenny Loggins’ ‘Danger Zone’ from the “Top Gun” original soundtrack kicks off a run of hook-laden explosive pop featuring Robert Palmer, Lenny Kravitz, Roachford, Michael Bolton, Spin Doctors, The Calling and Deep Blue Something with their chart-topping ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’. Superb songs including Sheryl Crow’s ‘All I Wanna Do’, Bruce Hornsby & The Range’s ‘The Way It Is’ and Patty Smyth & Don Henley’s collaboration ‘Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough’, follow before the disc closes with a pair of anthemic favourites from Lonestar with ‘Amazed’ and Take That’s ‘Rule The World’.

CD4 opens with an all-time soundtrack classic: Berlin’s #1‘Take My Breath Away’, coming before The Police’s ‘Every Breath You Take’ - one of the biggest tracks of the ‘80s. Elton John’s peerless ‘Tiny Dancer’ and Billy Joel’s signature ‘Piano Man’ showcase timeless songwriting, while Don McLean’s ‘American Pie’ remains a monumental classic. Power ballads from Cutting Crew with ‘(I Just) Died In Your Arms’ and Richard Marx’s ‘Hazard’ continue the line-up of exceptional tracks alongside the Scorpions’ ‘Wind Of Change’ and another huge #1 from a soundtrack; ‘Show Me Heaven’ by Maria McKee. Patti Smith Group’s ‘Because The Night’ and Blondie’s ‘Union City Blue’ open a run of 1970’s power-pop productions… Boz Scaggs, Boston and Bachman-Turner Overdrive feature along with Thin Lizzy’s chart debut ‘Whiskey In The Jar’ and Mott The Hoople who enjoyed a smash with the David Bowie-written ‘All The Young Dudes’ in the same year. Closing this superb collection are Meat Loaf with the suitably grand ‘Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad’ and John Miles with his epic hit ‘Music’
