* Masala Movement and Todh Teri return with a collaborative record featuring three boom bap and edit heavyweights: the extremely talented producers and performers Babloo Babylon, Sakré, and old friend / patron Kone Kone, who needs no introduction.
Todh Teri met Babloo and Sakré during his annual India tour in 2025, and they decided to create music together without any expectations. Babloo Babylon, Sakré, and Kone Kone are known for their boom bap flips of forgotten gems from Indian cinema. Together, they found a common ground, embracing and respecting each other’s unique approaches to music-making.
Disco Sheru proudly carries these disco-driven tunes, starting with “Doorbhaash,” a lo-fi, dreamy, and melancholic house cut filled with surprises and a haunting hook that echoes from the realms of the other side. The track retains the swing of boom bap while moving at 120 BPM, featuring Babloo’s distinctive approach to blending samples from various films.
On the A-side, Sakré digs deep into his vast archive of Tamil film samples, creating the French house-inspired peak-time belter “Vasanthageetham” alongside Todh Teri.Kone Kone takes over the entire B-side with “Pushpakasham,” an iconic Malayalam cinema track reimagined with a signature 707 disco groove. This time, it comes with a twist from his 303-loving collaborator. The B-side also features a tasty acid dub edit for those looking for a secret weapon for the later hours. Also look for a locked groove engraved into the dead wax which makes this record perpetual, leaving endless possibilities for how it can be used Art by Soju Aduckathil with creative direction from Masala Movement’s Manoj Kurian. This is the label’s ninth release, a vinyl-only exclusive, with more coming in 2027.
