Writing songs is a matter of course for Toby Whyle, he has been a familiar face in the musical cosmos for a long time. What is new is the realization that for him songwriting is one of the few ways to block out the garish, fast-moving outside world. “A Mood Of Its Own” is the beginning of a new adventure that Toby embarks on alone for the first time. He exposes himself unconditionally to the forces of attraction of electronic music and guitar pop, circles both of them again and again, but never allows himself to be completely caught. Each song follows its own orbit, grants new insights into Toby's world of thought. The title “A Mood Of Its Own” comes from a line of text from the first single “No One Moves”, with which Toby landed at first place on the Radio FM4 charts. The song describes writer's block, the second single “Quiet The Silence” accompanies the drifting apart of two people, “Pity” tells of stumbling blocks and a new beginning and “How It Feels” of the search for constants in a fast-paced world. On his first solo EP, Toby Whyle shows the full range of his songwriting, often leaving you full of energy but thoughtfully back. Together with producer Maximilian Walch, Toby captured different moods, reduced them to the essentials and created a unifying aesthetic. with which Toby landed on the first place of the Radio FM4 charts.
