Two 1980s instrumentals get sharpened to fit another must-cop 7" from the one and only edit king, Mr. K. The American maestro starts with Klein & MBO's 'Dirty Talk,' the 1982 Italo jewel whose locked bassline and 808 groove pointed toward pop and house, and which New Order reportedly borrowed from a year later for their evergreen 'Blue Monday.' He trims it to the essentials and keeps the synth pulse front and centre. The flip takes on Supertramp's 'Cannonball,' a 1985 club curveball built around a single key that here gets stripped back to its pounding keys and big brass swells. It's the first time the instrumental has appeared on 7" + this one's limited, so don't snooze.
