Ltd. edition of 100. "The Higsons' left-of-centre indie funk - a live force to be reckoned with!" - John Reed/Cherry Red. The Higsons in their heyday comprised Switch (better known now as Charlie Higson, author and co-creator of The Fast Show), multi-instrumentalist Terry Edwards, Simon Charterton (drums), Stuart McGeachin (guitar) and Colin Williams (bass). On a tour of Europe to promote The Curse Of The Higsons the band was invited to play a radio session in Geneva. Broadcast live, but with no live audience. Founder member Terry Edwards picks up the pieces:- "We were given a tape of the show which I took home and forgot about. In my mind it'd been an atmosphere-free performance as we were playing in a cold studio with no audience to feed off. Listening back in summer 2023 it was a pleasant surprise to hear what good form we were on. I got the 10 tracks ready for production then checked the transmission date - June 1st, 1984. It looked kind of familiar. It was. Almost! June 1, 1974 was a live album by Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Eno, Nico and guests. The ten-year anniversary was too good to ignore, so we felt duty-bound to release it as June 1, 1984. "I even got the opportunity to tell Brian Eno about it just after getting the CD package together and said that we were going to spoof the sleeve of the release on Island Records. He grinned and said "Isn't that how art gets made? You steal bits from here and there!" A neat paraphrasing of Picasso - apt as we were standing outside the Stolper Gallery where Eno was exhibiting a new collection of neon artwork. I took that as a green light so here it is, two sets of Five Live Higsons - with guest trumpeter Ian R Watson complementing the core band."

Tracklisting: Set 1: Clanking My Bucket | Born Blind | Run Me Down | The Junk Keeps Piling Up | I Can Hear Voices. Set 2: 1958 | Heat | Gangway | Do The Jerk I Don't Want To Live With Monkeys.
