The Gymkhana are a 3-piece pastoral lo-f folk-indie collective who have accidentally made an album with like minded chums (such as members of Slowdive, BMX Bandits, Gong , Midlake, Mediaeval Baebes, Miranda Sex Garden, Art Brut, Evil Blizzard, Billy Reeves) about the joys and dangers of living a life through the prism of nostalgia

Each song uses the narrative of 1970s children's tv show Follyfoot as a starting point for off- kilter pop songs. Fuzzy with sepia- tinged melodies about lost childhood summers, feld recordings of fetes and medieval parties, and near-prog and post-punk wig outs that threaten to implode like a faulting broadcast of Top of the Pops in 1973.

Last year Matt Dyson, Patch Hannan (The Sundays) and Jason Applin (Bennet) presented the world with 'Follyfoot 71-73' which sold out on original release. In 2026, Last Night From Glasgow partnered with the band to repress the release on Palomino coloured vinyl. A new album from The Gymkhana will follow in 2027.
