"Time Out" it's masterpiece album by Dave Brubeck for several reasons: one of all being its innovative use of unconventional time signatures in jazz, particularly the use of unusual meters like 5/4, 9/8, and 6/4

In the late 1950s jazz was undergoing a period of evolution and experimentation: the post- war era saw jazz moving away from its traditional roots and embracing new forms, styles, and infuences.
