This new edits label comes rather out of the blue with no backstory, no hype, no names attached. The music, thankfully, has plenty to say for itself - it's lived in, frayed around the edges and high on character. '1.1' opens with big house drums and a gravelly spoken word, bright sax energy and plenty of jumble percussion. '1.1.1' has a funky guitar riff hanging above sliding open hi-hats with funky 60s samples, then '1.1.3' completely flips the mood with a deep and late-night house vibe. '1.1.4' stays deep but brightens things up with some lush chord work that dials up the emotional pressure and harks back to classic Ron and Chez territory. Plenty of variation make this a fine first EP.
