 Singer and multi-instrumentalist Silas Short is the latest addition to the Stones Throw family.
 ‘Drawing’ is Silas’ debut EP on the label.

 Silas’ music is where soul and classic R&B meet. Reminiscent of D’Angelo and Erykah Badu, his musical compositions also channel a range of artists from Mos Def and Stevie Wonder to Radiohead and Björk.
 Chicago-based Silas Short had a rough time growing up as a mixed-race child in the suburbs of Milwaukee but he found solace and inspiration in music through his older brother who played drums for the church gospel band.
 After Silas shattered a bone in his left hand while delivering pizzas and was told by a doctor that he’d never play guitar again, he stuck through the pain and went on to develop a method of guitar playing he describes as ‘Liquid Style’.
 The seven pieces that make up ‘Drawing’ are the product of Silas using the lockdowns of 2020 as an opportunity to discover his true sound.
 With his honest and vulnerable yet uplifting sound, Silas hopes to honour his biracial heritage and create a safe space for others like him.
