"My DNA" with beautiful piano lead backed with gorgeous symphonic synths and solid rhythmic structures features a little additional vocal sampling from the seminal theorist/ author of Cosmos: Erich Von Daeniken.Continuing with even more melodic/ rhythmic/ atmospheric perfectionism, with a cosmic edge where a deeply moving, almost Vangelis- like piano lead is surrounded by soft, haunting synth textures, including slight allusions to Tangerine Dream from the 70s.Last track "The Unknown" begins with a short piano refrain before Moya Brennan (the voice of Clannad) takes over with a haunting, Celtic- like vocal over a dark, electronic arrangement of synthesizers and effects, augmented only by some
acoustic instruments.Once again, a glorious synth CD where the traditional, melodic synth style of Johannes Schmoelling meets the more modern input of Rob Waters, and the whole thing just strikes the perfect balance between melody and rhythmic elements! Johannes Schmoelling is still one of the best overall representatives of the German synth genre, and together with Rob Waters he works well in the modern era.
