Relishing the opportunity to share more of his music and inspired by the great English psychedelic bands of the late 60s and 70s, ARIA Award winning and Grammy-nominated engineer Sam Teskey (best known for his fret-work in much loved Australian blues-soul outfit The Teskey Brothers) was keen to make a record that could be enjoyed as a whole, from start to finish. The record itself is a cycle, starting with the stirring, pastoral folk of 'Love and ending with its reprise, 'Then Love Returns'. To mark the accouncement of 'Cycles', Sam has released the first single and opening track off the record, 'Love' and announced his debut headline Australian tour, which includes shows across Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Castlemaine & Melbourne. What Teskey presents across the seven tracks is nothing short of a cosmic journey, one that traverses a lot of musical territory. From sprawling, orchestral balladry to dissonant, ambient soundscapes, from folk to heavy psych-rock freak outs, it's a surprising, thrilling and immersive listen.
