The work of pioneering Birmingham techno figure Regis is identifiable by a certain roundness to his beats, which sounds like the repeated, well-worn ramming of a great pestle or stamping press onto an industrial die. This is a sound heard just as clearly with this short-notice remix-reissue of 'Power Is Neutral', the original released earlier this 2026, and which freshener here lives up to the track title: there's neutrality in horizontality here, as Regis rotates power, handing the reins to fellow UK techno titan Mark Broom for a remix each of that EP's tracks. Regis' own, slamming sound isn't lost despite Broom's trademark, room-sweeping scuzz.
