 Originally a solo venture for Alan’s more experimental workoutside of Depeche, Recoil became his primary musicproject after he announced his departure from the band in1995.
 After a 6-year break from recording, Alan Wilder returnedwith Recoil’s fifth studio album, ‘subHuman’. This darkelectronic album, which sets the listener a challenge toanalyse what makes us human and sub-human, is acollaboration with bluesman Joe Richardson, who Wildercame across via a Google search. Richardson providedguitar, harmonica and eerie vocals, dealing with themes ofmurder, death and religion. Singer Carla Trevaskis llenther ethereal vocals on ‘Allelujah’.
