Paul was a former member of The Overlanders, Fire and Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera.Very much of the Folk/ Progressive style of music, these albums, though critically acclaimed, failed to achieve great commercial success.

After the demise of the band, Brett had a long career as a distinguished session musician.

He continued to produce solo albums whilst also fnding time to be a guitar designer and journalist!
