Peterson played and recorded as an accompanist for many of the other JATP stars as well as being featured with his own trio, which at the time of Night Train, consisted of Ray Brown on bass and Ed Thigpen on drums.

A prolifc recording artist with a discography of over 200 albums, Night Train was one of Peterson's most acclaimed and commercially successful recordings.

Incudes the bonus tracks "Volare" and "My Heart Belongs To Daddy" from the same session but not included on the original LP.
