Songwriter Olivia Broadfeld shares euphoric electronic rework of 'Faultline' ahead of the highly anticipated two-part special of BBC Drama The Split

Broadfeld originally wrote and performed 'Faultline' for the fnal tear-jerking scene of the third and fnal series of the hit BBC Drama The Split in 2022. It became a fan favourite, supported on Radio 2 by Dermot O'Leary, Claudia Winkleman and Edith Bowman, and also by Laura Whitmore on Radio 5. The soundtrack scaled the Amazon and Apple Music charts, overtaking the likes of Adele's album 30 and only beaten to the #1 spot by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

On being asked to return to song-writing duties by writer / director Abi Morgan (Eric) and Sister Pictures (This Is Going To Hurt), Broadfeld says, "It's such a gift to get to write for Abi's characters again. The Split had become my muse since joining the show in 2019, and in all honesty I felt quite bereft knowing that Series 3 was going to be the last. When I got the call and started writing again... it was like putting your favourite jumper on... familiar and cosy. I just have such love for this show." Writing with awisdom that only comes from having grown up, having lived, loved and lost, her songs resonated with women across the UK. Via the medium of TV, Broadfeld's music reached a demographic of women that is often neglected and sidelined because of their age, not least by the music industry.
