Richard George and Corine Trembath are behind the Obelix project, and its early roots in the 90s very much defined the sound of the era's house and techno. Many of the tunes have become diggers delights, but now the pair themselves have been digging in their own vaults to turn out a two-part collection of their previously unreleased recordings made in the mid-1990s. This second volume, like the first, has plenty of attitude with 909s and 303s in healthy supply. 'Funky Psycho' is a kicking and dubby tech house sound, 'Goodbye Wave' has a more zoned-out feel with sugary chords laced into a textured but hypnotic groove and 'Whatever' has a lush depth to it that brings real heady calm.
