Myst Milano creates a world all their own on ‘Shapeshyfter’, the genre-bending debut album out this summer on Halocline Trance. Completely self-written, the production and flows draw from a wide scope of influences - a charismatic pastiche of sound and personality from a crucial new talent in Canadian music. The atmosphere alternates between mastubatory + paranoid; bullish + insecure; juvenile + sage. Moments of pin-drop honesty punctuated by horny bozo energy. “Shapeshyfter” promises only one thing: to guide you places you’d never expect. The tense confessional energy of All Filler lapses into a complex vulnerability in Oh Boy. The amped up speaker bruiser energy of Sewn Up is contentiousness at its most impulsive. Energized by its unpredictability and spirit, ‘Shapeshyfter’ will leave you wondering: is it victory or survival at all costs?
