A Light In A Dark Place is the fourth studio album from the Media Whores and their fifth, including a 18 track compilation ‘A Decade Of Defiance’ (2019) following on from their critically acclaimed and mercury prize listed ‘Dangerous Minds’ (2016).

ALIADP sees a wide range of lyrical topics tackled such as, against the rise of the right and fascism (Sufferers and Albert Finney), capitalism and consumerism (Money and Consumerism Is The King), terrorism (Red), global geo-politics (Cold War and Cruel Britannia), road trips to Blackpool (Las Vegas of the North) and Amsterdam (The Bulldog Bites Back) - a bad trip! Also for the lovers and romantics out there, of sorts! (Colouring In and It’s Not Alright).

There are more, but that is the gist of where 2021 finds the Media Whores. Some are hearing the Saints and some, Ramones, but we are hearing the Media Whores!

This album is the Media Whores most expensive recording and production to date, as a Grammy award winner doesn’t come for cheap! Or vinyl! Initial feedback certainly indicates that it is a well produced and sonically good sounding and ‘striking’ body of work!

Is this their ‘Black Album’ or ‘Black and White’, even, or ‘What’s This For’, album? Not really, but it is certainly their ‘Light’ and hope, coming out of a ‘Dark Place’!

The band is; Craig A - vocals, rhythm guitar and lyrics
Doogie Mackie - bass guitar and backing vocals
Chris McArthur - lead guitar
Andy Russell - drums

Tracks: Big Pharma / Las Vegas Of The North / Red / Consumerism Is The King / Miss Inedible / It’s Not Alright / Is The Cold War Getting Warmer? / The Bulldog Bites Back / Sufferers / Colouring In / Money / Cruel Britannia / Albert Finney
