From the dark woods of V rmland, Sweden, the vintage rock band Lykantropi invites their listeners to their slightly melancholic rock, delivered by enchanting female and male vocals in symbiosis that consolidates the lycanthropic touch painted by diverse, catchy melodies.

The music is inspired by the 70’s rock that consists of an equal part of their embracing of nature and its force, both good and evil. In today’s society the old folk tales can be thought to belong to the delusions of the past. 

With their enchanting riffs and beautiful harmonies Lykantropi takes us via the werewolf transformation back to the rock and folk music of the early 70’s. Sweet harmonies reminiscent of the Mamas & The Papas are layered with electric guitars and flutes into a witch’s brew.

A witch brew that also can be compared to other mighty bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Coven and Blue oyster Cult.

The interest of Lykantopi has continued and grown since their debut album in 2017. Lykantropi is now known as one of the most exciting band in Sweden of their genre for many years, which has been confirmed by media such as Aftonbladet (Biggest newspaper in Sweden), Sweden Rock Magazine, Power Play (9 of 10, UK), Prog Magazine (UK), Eclipsed (DE), Legacy (DE) Brooklyn Vegan (US), New Noice Magazine (US) Norway Rock Magazine to name a few.

In November 2020, Lykantropi released another vintage rock tresure, their third album ‘Tales to be Told’ including the strong singles ‘Coming Your Way’, ‘Kom ta mig ut’ and Axis of Margaret. The single want straight into New Music Friday, Rock Idag at Spotify, NMD on iTunes, Released on Youtube Music and Modern Psychedelic Rock on Tidal. The single was premiered by V13 (UK) (watch here and Classic Rock/Louder (UK) did include them in their ‘Tracks of the Week’ (watch here) Beyond that, the album has been shared and acclaimed by medias and fans all over the world.

The album release, November 6th, was a great success and the vinyls sold out in a blink of an eye. So Despotz Records gives you now the 2nd pressing of the album as a 12” randomly multicolored recycled vinyl. 2020 started strong on the live-side with several festivals booked in Sweden and was booked as support band for the well-known rockband Graveyard’s tour in Sweden, which all has been postponed due Covid-19.

In summer, the band livestreamed for Gaffa (biggest music magazine in Sweden) Now the band’s booking agent are booking gigs for the coming year and we all keep our fingers crossed that we’ll fight the pandemic so that the world’s live scenes open up again!
