Detroit mainstays Luke Hess and Brian Kage are no strangers to working together and after a bit of a break they return to Michigander with "voltage modulations derived from intensive analogue lab sessions." 'Gloaming' opens at quite a pace, though isn't short on warmth and depth as the surging chords wash repeatedly over hunched kicks. 'Umbral' is more restrained as the synths dance a nervous dance over the rolling drums and 'Northward' then hunkers down into a weight dub techno world with grainy chords and hammering percussion ramping up the tension. 'Tenebrous' shuts down with a more eerie and introspective sound with charges of static marbling the gritty deep dub-tech grooves. Timeless as ever from this pair.
