True classics never age or pass out of fashion, and that's the case with this one from Lexicon Avenue, the Newcastle trio of Scott Bradford, Chris Scott and Mark Armstrong who were tied to Bradford's seminal Shindig club night, which he founded in 1992. In 1997 they launched Forensic Records, and this deep house cut was its first release. It made its way onto Deep Dish's Yoshiesque and into the boxes of top dogs like Terry Francis and Laurent Garnier, who clearly all knew a monster when they heard one. Endell Street's new remaster brings back the glassy chords, patient groove and simmering late-night glow. Nearly 30 years on, it puts plenty of new stuff to shame.
