Sterling recorded extensively for Clement Dodd and this single was released in 1969 with The Paragon’s killer rocksteady ‘My Satisfaction’ on the flip. The song ‘Afrikaan Beat’ was originally recorded by the German orchestra leader Bert Kaempfert and was based on South African Kwela style of music. ‘Afrikaan Beat’ featured on Soul Jazz Records’ ‘Studio One Scorcher’. The original Studio One 45s cost up to £400.
