Kizis has crafted a body of work epic in scope and intimate in practice with Turn. She is an Algonquin two-spirit artist, whose debut album Kij / Care under the name of Mich Cota was a stunning meditation on recovery from trauma and oppression, through love and action.

Now, she returns with Turn, a bold musical undertaking spanning four hours. It documents her constant growth through reflections on what it is to live as a trans and Indigenous person in a world which she understands has the capacity to experience great changes still approaching. Composed and produced in numerous corners of the globe from Montreal, Moonsonee and Toronto to London, Berlin and Lima.

The colossal piece that is Turn, although intimate and personal, also demonstrates the community spirit Kizis often celebrates as seen in many of her music videos such as the new video ‘Amanda’. Featuring over fifty artists on the record including the likes of Beverly Glenn Copeland, Owen Pallet and Mabe Fratti this record embraces the communities and experiences that Kizis often immerses herself in.
