American duo Joonam launch their Balagan imprint with three transcendental, electro cuts including a remix from UK electro producer Silicon Scally aka Carl Finlow.
‘Dirt Nap’ kicks things off with reverberating electro drums and punchy low frequencies balanced with chopped, vocals samples and outlandish pads before Silicon Scally’s remix of ‘Dirt Nap’ deploys an otherworldly atmosphere through meandering acid-tinged synths, revolving, glitched-out percussion and oscillating obscurities. Stabbing bass notes, wavering modulations and twitchy rhythms take the focus in ‘Halo Effect’ which maintains a modern yet electro feel until ‘Strobe’ rounds off the EP with breaky grooves, a menacing synth line and raw sounding elements keeping you locked throughout.
