The melodic structure of many of these tracks is often reminiscent of his time playing with Tangerine Dream,being as equally attention grabbing now as it was back then - and at times there is even a feel of Vangelis to much of the music!At just under forty minutes, "Diary Of A Common Thread" is not as long as the average electronic music CD these days, but each and every minute is pure quality! This album is packed with listening pleasure and is indeed anothersuperb piece of work from the maestro. 

Johannes Schmoelling was a member of the electronic rock legend Tangerine Dream from 1979 to 1985 (e.g. the famous soundtrack to German crime television series Tatort "Das Mädchen auf der Treppe" - engl. "The Girl On The Steps)"
