JD SLATER - Elbow Deep In The Hoopla [CD]

Format: CD
Catalogue No.: DE364CD

Genre: Experimental/Electronic

Former punk turned American gay porn maverick J.D. Slater's unreleased Club Inferno scores make for fascinating listening even when removed from their original context. Compiled from three late-90s fisting films, Elbow Deep is the sound Slater embracing loop-based sampling just as the technology was opening up electronic music. 'Grand Fuck' his probably the best tune we've ever heard with Gregorian textures, 'Stallion Funk' has a looser lurch, and 'At Arm's Length' settles into frosty ambience. This is stranger and more atmospheric album than its origins might suggest but one that will keep you coming back for more.
