 In 1954 and 1956, Jacques Brel’s first live performances in the cabarets ‘Chez Geneviève’
and ‘Chez Gilles’ were transmitted on the radio.
 In July 1965, at the peak of his career, Jacques Brel recorded a jam session at the Maison de la Radio, during which he delivered a moving rendition of ‘Amsterdam’, accompanied only by Gérard Jouannest on piano and Pierre Sim on double bass.
 This release also features a live recital recorded for the program ‘Discoparade’ at the Alhambra in 1962, where the artist - now far from his modest beginnings - is accompanied by a piano and a string ensemble.
