Born in Santiago, Cabo Verde, Pedro Ramos and Jacinta Sanches met in Praia, Portugal, fell in love and raised six children in Portugal. They famously opened Portugal's first reggae bar under their house and made music that was arranged by Pedro on cafe napkins. Following their 1987 debut LP, Pedro Ramos and Jacinta Sanches reunited with their trusted band mates, including Carlos Sousa, Bulimundo, Nuno Santos, Zeze, Augusto Rasta, Dalo and Dalu for a new project bearing both their names. Recorded in just eight days at Estudios Musicorde, the now reissued album mixes up Cape Verdean saudade with Kingston-style reggae into an authentic fusion of island soul and urban grit.
