The Silvertone Years is a retrospective album that covers the music of the legendary blues/roots artist J.J. Cale during his time on the Silvertone label. The album gives an overview of his work from 1989 till 1992. The compilation goes back to a period where Cale worked with less musicians compared to the early 1980s, but still maintained his signature sound of blues and country in a laidback manner. The Silvertone Years provides an interesting overview of Cale's musical output and shows his ability to create timeless music.

The Silvertone Years is available on vinyl for the first time as a limited edition of 1500 individually numbered copies on smokey coloured vinyl and includes an insert.
