 Hesperia is the ancient name of Italy and this one-man project, from Macerata, Italy, received great reviews on his latest album, ‘Roma II’. Now Doc Records release the former album, ‘Roma I: Caesar’ on three different vinyl formats (dark red marbled vinyl, gold marmered vinyl and black vinyl).
 The concept is obviously about Rome, and this is the first ‘Caesar-Eagle’ volume (‘Wolf’ was the second). It’s about seven centuries through wars and battles from the foundation of Rome to the creation of the Roman Empire.
 Hesperia stand for atmospheric pagan black metal. This album is a bit less extreme than the last one, but still full of pure, true and rough black metal, with complex and frenzy parts, without forgetting the spiritual feelings and epic atmospheres; although it has some more old school heavy metal vibes on it too. Most lyrics are mainly screamed in Latin with the ancient Roman pronunciation, and the music can be compared to the sound of bands like Absu, Thyrfing, Limbonic Art, Enslaved, Bathory, Arcturus, Primordial, Ancient Rites, Satyricon, Borknagar and Immortal. Black metal with Italian progressive rock / metal twists from the 1970s, pagan atmospheres and an epic soundtrack style.
