Berlin-based Harry Wills tends to build his minimal and tech on warm, deep foundations. The outing on RAND Muzik starts with exactly that on 'Akufriend' (a title which nods to an appreciation of minimal favourite Akufen, maybe?), which is a deft, light-footed rhythm with plenty of space and bounce and subtle modulations adding a wiggy feel. 'How2' lands with more intent and drive but is still a headsy sound with a warped synth lead. 'Fauna' pairs swirling ambient synth motifs with a dub-tech-house house groove that's feather-light but forceful in all the right ways. 'Clarity' shuts down with a bold, busy bassline that roams free under locked-in percussion.
