The debut album from Los Angeles indie singer-songwriter and bedroom producer Gracie Gray. Gray began her solo project while studying opera in college and recording as half of electro-pop duo Annaland. LA Weekly has described her songs as “spectral spells,” putting the listener into a dreamlike trance. Her commanding yet delicate vocal has captivated live audiences in various performance settings. Raised in Los Angeles as the middle child of four siblings, Gray was homeschooled from elementary to high school and began touring with a band while attending the Bob Cole Conservatory for classical voice in 2016. In late 2018, Gray began to record her debut album “Oregon In A Day.” The record abandons clean-sounding studio gear for the raw intention and emotion of a DIY project recorded in Gray’s bedroom. Having produced and mixed most of the album herself, each decision is reflective of her priorities: the songwriting and execution and it received critical acclaim from publications including LA Weekly and IMPOSE, garnering comparisons to ‘90s mainstays Mazzy Star and Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker. Gray’s experience as a bedroom recording artist proved helpful in 2020, as it allowed her to continue her project during quarantine and complete a new collection of songs. The first single,“alienlover”, follows the theme of separation from her previous record while shifting to a heavier sound with a more experimental and elaborate approach to production. Its initial independent release was supported by the likes of Wild Honey Pie, BuffaBlog and BIRP FM among others. "alienlover" now receives a worldwide re-release in October 2021, alongside news of a new album, due early 2022 via London tastemaker label Hand In Hive Records. Album focus track: anna
