"GAST dedicates these tracks to the room in which they were recorded" say Munich's cult Ilian Tape label of this latest record, which traverses a range of moods and grooves. There is grainy, textured ambient drift to start with, then a warmer, more light-filled soundscape on 'Bird Knock' before 'Sams Update' brings a slow, broken, deep dub rhythm and fluttering percussion and 'Optifyer' is brain cleansing synth purity. The flipside explores fragments of melody and dense tape echo, beatless dub chambers and experimental ambient sounds that have too much going on to be pure background music, certainly in the case of the intriguing 'Clean Revolution'.
