For his album number 25 Fabrizio Poggi decides to open his archives or rather his cellar - Inspired right from the cover and the title to the legendary pink house where Bob Dylan and The Band, in 1967 in Woodstock, recorded the legendary Basement Tapes, this album composed of outtakes and rarities pays a dutiful tribute to the greats of the blues and to The Band whose flm The Last Waltz helped give birth to Fabrizio's passion for the blues and for the music of the extraordinary Canadian band

Fabrizio recounts: "My encounter with the blues took place many years ago, in the late seventies, when I saw for the frst time at the cinema "The Last Waltz", the farewell flm of The Band and I was struck by the charisma of Muddy Waters and Paul Butterfeld's incredible harmonica playing". The disc contains excerpts from studio and live recordings over a period of ffteen years.

Many musicians involved, including Garth Hudson of The Band, Ronnie Earl and Guy Davis. The idea for the cover came after Fabrizio's partner, Angelina, gave him a miniature but perfect in every detail copy of The Big Pink for Valentine's Day. From there was born the whole idea for these Basement Blues that give us
renewed and unreleased versions of great blues classics, intense spirituals and original songs by Fabrizio now almost unobtainable.
