Banff, Alberta… a picturesque Western Canadian Mountain town, famous for natural beauty, kitschy tourist shops and incredible nightlife. It’s this last attraction that provides the inspiration for Dragon Fli Empire’s newest opus, “Banff Avenue”. The two-man team of DJ Cosm and Tarik Robinson (aka Teekay) return with their first album since 2013’s “Mission Statement” and it’s a purely in-house effort with that 100% DFE formula of thumping, melodic beats by Cosm and Teekay’s smooth and intelligent wordplay. The new Vinyl release on ae productions in collaboration with def’s own make-believe records unleashes a superb 7 track Canadian hip hop ep on the vinyl world – previously only available on cd and download. The project between the 2 labels was born during the release of the mr fantastic breakdown single featuring Teekay on vocal as ae boss mr fantastic thought that the ep was so good it deserved a vinyl release and luckily Teekay and cosm were happy to see their latest work at the time have a vinyl issue to complement the cd and digital release. the tracks appear in a different running order on the vinyl pressing to achieve a better balance of cut quality AND volume across the ep.

The world in lockdown played havoc with vinyl pressing times so all releases in the queue are taking a long time to process, hence only just getting through manufacturing 3 years later. We are sure you will agree when listening though that the wait was well worth it to have a release of such high calibre available for vinyl enthusiasts.
