Star pianist Daniil Trifonov burst on to the international scene winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011. With this album, Trifonov returns to the music of Tchaikovsky in a beautiful selection of solo works evoking youth and family. “We think of him”, says the celebrated pianist, “as an archetypical Romantic” and a “troubled soul.
