Berlin ́s tropical bass pioneer Daniel Haaksman is back with his new album “Sonido Lava”. Spanish for “Lava Sound”, the album is a bubbling and sizzling mixture of pan latin sounds that flow from Caribbean dembow rhythms to Brasilian guitarada surf sounds, rasteirinha beats from Rio de Janeiro to Cuban rumbas and uptempo salsa bass to everything else. The album embodies a blazing lava lake of music styles from across the South American continent, seen through the lens of Daniel Haaksman. “Sonido Lava” is led by vocal contributions by Chilean multi-disciplinary artist MALAGÜERA who sings on tracks like “La Mujer Dormida”, “Bruja”, “Takekema” and “Momomotombo”. Additionally, guest contributions are by Çantamarta (from Andalucia) in “Supervivencia”, with whom Daniel collaborated in 2020 on the highly successful “Lluvia” single (streamed +1 Million times on Spotify). Other featured artists are Colombia´s Los Bulldozer, masters of zoukous inspired guitars, and Brazilian guitarero Felipe Cordeiro from Belém, known for his Brasilian take on surf sounds and music styles from the Amazon forest.
