Washington formation Cold, Bold & Together relocated to Seattle after an initial spark of good reception, realising they could transport their buzz and tenfold multiply it elsewhere. They would soon build a rep as the go-to opening act for Ohio Players, Kool & The Gang, and Earth, Wind & Fire, though they'd sadly dissolve in 1978. 'Go For It' was among the many masters to have been thought destroyed at the Kaye-Smith Studios in Seattle, and were considered long-lost, until a stroke of luck led us to look again: a copy had been smuggled out by their producer and forgotten about, until he saw it fit to scour the attic and revive the song a decade later. It's a lightweight jazz-funk-disco bump, and a rare case of the instrumental version taking up the A-side and an ensemble vocal version, 'Unity', on the B flip.
