One of several French rock groups signed by BYG Records in the early 70s, Coeur Magique had a notably idiosyncratic approach to songwriting and arranging that reflected the ambition of its founder Claude Olmos. A skilled multi-instrumentalist he wrote songs that were sometimes epic, allowing room for lengthy passages of improvisation and interplay among musicians who also performed at a high level.
