Recorded during her live performance in Paris on 12 & 13 June 1993, this album captures the soulful and emotive voice of Cesária Evora, the renowned Cape Verdean singer often referred to as the “Barefoot Diva.” The live recording highlights her mastery of morna, a traditional Cape Verdean music style often compared to blues or fado for its melancholic tone and themes of longing and nostalgia.
