Blood Incantation’s landmark debut ‘Starspawn’ turns 10. Special anniversary LP edition featuring a new lacquer cut, 140g three-color INKPLOSION™ EcoRecord, gatefold sleeve and 4-page booklet.

Ten years after its original release, Blood Incantation’s landmark debut album ‘Starspawn’ returns in a special 10th Anniversary LP Edition.
Originally released in 2016, ‘Starspawn’ introduced Blood Incantation’s singular vision of death metal: intricate and otherworldly, combining labyrinthine riffs and crushing heaviness with progressive songwriting and vast cosmic atmosphere. Recorded entirely analogue at World Famous Studios in Colorado, with the band performing largely live to tape without click tracks, its raw and organic production became an essential part of the album’s identity.
What began with ‘Starspawn’ has since evolved into one of the most distinctive evolutions in contemporary heavy music. Blood Incantation have become a defining force in modern extreme music, with 2024’s ‘Absolute Elsewhere’ marking their definitive breakthrough – transcending genre boundaries and bringing the band’s singular vision to an audience far beyond death metal.
For its 10th anniversary, ‘Starspawn’ receives a special lacquer cut by Jaakko Viitalähde and is pressed on premium EcoRecord with a three-color INKPLOSION™ effect. EcoRecord’s PET material and precision injection-moulding process provide ultra-smooth groove surfaces designed to reduce background noise and improve sonic transparency, stable dynamics and precise spatial imaging.
The anniversary edition is presented in an upgraded gatefold sleeve with matt/gloss finish, 4-page LP booklet and poster – a special new edition of the album that opened the Stargate in 2016.

****

Formed in Denver, Colorado in 2011, Blood Incantation have grown from the depths of the underground into one of the most acclaimed and forward-thinking forces in contemporary extreme music. From their landmark 2016 debut 'Starspawn' and 2019’s 'Hidden History of the Human Race' to the synth-driven 'Timewave Zero', the band have continually expanded the boundaries of death metal through progressive rock, psychedelia, ambient music and cosmic experimentation.
Their 2024 album 'Absolute Elsewhere' marked their definitive breakthrough. Recorded at Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios, the album fused crushing death metal with 1970s progressive and kosmische music, bringing Blood Incantation’s singular vision to an audience far beyond the confines of extreme metal.
In June 2026, the band followed with 'All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)', an ambient and kosmische companion to the documentary chronicling the creation of 'Absolute Elsewhere'. Originally exclusive to the album’s limited artbook, both soundtrack and film received their first standalone release, with the soundtrack appearing on vinyl for the first time.
The 'Absolute Elsewhere' era culminated in another landmark moment in July 2026, when Blood Incantation performed at the historic Amphitheatre of Pompeii alongside Opeth for a sold-out concert — stepping onto one of rock music’s most iconic stages, forever associated with Pink Floyd’s legendary 'Live at Pompeii'.
Blood Incantation’s evolution has been defined by a refusal to recognize musical boundaries — transforming an underground death metal band into a singular force in modern heavy music
