Talking with the Taxman About Poetry, Billy Bragg’s third album, originally released in 1986, gets a long-overdue limited-edition

National Album Day vinyl reissue on classic black vinyl. Remastered from the original master tapes,

this gatefold edition includes a bonus 7” single featuring “Walk Away Renee” and an etched album-cover B-side.

Featuring Kirsty MacColl and Johnny Marr, the album was Bragg’s first Top 10 record and includes classics such as “Greetings To The New Brunette”, “Levi Stubbs’ Tears” and “There Is Power in a Union”.

Talking with the Taxman About Poetry is the third album by Billy Bragg, originally released in September 1986. This long overdue vinyl reissue comes in a gatefold sleeve and was remastered by John Webber at Air Studios using high-resolution transfers made from master tapes in Billy's archives. This limited-edition National Album Day release in classic black vinyl includes a bonus 7" single featuring "Walk Away Renee" on the A-side and an etching of the Talking About The Taxman album cover art on the B-side. For Talking 
with the Taxman About Poetry, Bragg embraced a more fully realised band sound with the help of special guests Kirsty MacColl and Johnny Marr and production courtesy of John Porter (Roxy Music, The Smiths) and Kenny Jones. ‘Taxman…’ was his first top ten album and gave the world some of his most enduring songs in ‘Greetings To The New Brunette’ (his first top 40 hit), live favourite “Levi Stubbs’ Tears” about a victim of domestic abuse taking comfort in the music of the Four Tops, and classic workers’ anthem “There Is Power in a Union”.
