Sandwiched between their debut recording and their big breakthrough third album, ‘500 Pounds’ was Big Sugar’s growth album where they began to build from their bluesy base into the raw high-powered rock for which they are adored.

Led by guitarist Gordie Johnson, the group covers a lot of ground, from the acid blues of “Ride Like Hell” and “I’m A Ram,” into a hypnotic, National Steel groove on “Sugar In My Coffee,” and then over to a lurching Tex-Mex riff for “AAA Aardvark Hotel,” winding up with R&B-infused “Wild Ox Moan.”

‘500 Pounds’ has lived on cassette and then CD since 1993 and has been Certified Gold (50K sales), but this is the first ever vinyl pressing and is beautifully done on 180G Colour Vinyl with individually autographed inserts, and a download card for digital libraries.
