Better Person, the silent prince of the Berlin's international late-night underground pop scene, presents Something to Lose, his debut album.

Informed by 80’s power ballads, gentle sophisti-pop and forgotten Euro-Pop hits, Better Person presents an introspective and personal mix of beautifully sincere vocals and timeless song craft.

Produced by Ben Goldwasser of MGMT, and recorded in Los Angeles, Something To Lose is a breezy sonic landscape, recast as truly heartfelt – sincere and evocative as it is polished and refned. When the last notes drift away in reverb you can almost smell the ocean air.

Byczkowski may be a dreamer but he has no delusions about the real world. The album is a proclamation of a newfound devotion, but also the fear of loss that comes with it. It is not simply about love, but the bitter-sweetness of life, the fear and darkness that underscores even the most euphoric moment.

•Debut album from the Berlin-based Polish singer and balladeer Adam Byczkowski.
•Mixed and produced by Ben Goldwasser of MGMT.
•Direct support for TOPS US tour, Spring 2021. Headine EU + US touring planned in support of release.
•Something To Lose follows a string of EP's and singles from 2016-2019.
•Previous press coverage from The Guardian, The FADER, i-D, Subbacultcha, Under The Radar, Nylon.
•Extensive touring history across Europe and North America, incl. SXSW.

Album Press:

Claire Biddles, LOBF - “I’ve been hoping for a new Better Person record for a long time (Zakochany Czlowiek is one of my favourite songs of recent years!) so I’m definitely gonna pitch this.”

Chris Hamilton-Peach, LOBF - “Really liking the early 80s direction of ‘Hearts on Fire’ and the pace of ‘True Love’, also thought ‘Close to You’ had some nice Talk Talk-esque touches”.

Wyndham Wallace, Classic Pop, Uncut - “I enjoyed the single and will try to listen to the album at some stage before the next Uncut and Classic Pop sessions. It reminded me a little of the kind of fey pop I enjoyed when I was much younger and which I’ve been revisiting in recent months”.

“the way Byczkowski synergizes ‘80s R&B silkiness with crestfallen goth mistiness is largely his own.”- Under The Radar

“an elusive and sensitive singer who creates sinewy and frosty R&B soundscapes that are inspired by cold and lonely Berlin nights, lost loves, and the feeling of displacement in his adoptive city.”- Nylon (Interview Feature)
