In his provocative new reading Schwarz turns Wagner’s epic cycle into the saga of a dysfunctional modern family, culminating in the concluding Götterdämmerung. Cornelius Meister conducts a splendid cast including famous Bayreuth veterans (Iréne Theorin, Albert Dohmen) as well as exciting new stars (Clay Hilley, Elisabeth Teige).
