We’ve met Portland, Oregon’s Jason Goodrich previously - Badrich is familiar to Ohm Resistance listeners from the last two Perihelion compilations, and through his work with label favorite skintape. His industrial events in the city of roses are legendary for their darkness and boundaryless noise. His project has been releasing for over a decade on both vinyl and CD, reaching the furthest corner of the über-underground. Badrich’s work is oldschool IDM, new school hyper glitch, and strings of gentle, destroyed melodies all combined into a super Kaiju of industrial-strength filth. On FORENSICS, his first long player since 2017’s _Compiler Log, the project has reached a pinnacle of excellence in electronic exploration. Not content with solely bringing decayed electronic beats and evaporated synthesizers onto the dissection table, the new album is intensely bass-heavy, and evokes electro influences across its glitched out mainframe. Drawing not only inspiration from Autechre, but using publicly available remix parts on Equal parts Too Dark Park, Tipper, and Sega Genesis Chakan soundtrack, Forensics is a maxed out 80 Minutes of tripping electronic dreams which edge toward uneasy nightmares.
