HYMNS Vol. 2 is a fine congregation of FWM Entertainment's best that gathers Stefan Ringer, Marquinn Mason, DJ Kemit, Lionbabe and a sprawling cast of believers under one groove. Gospel chords meet jacked Chicago swing meet Afro-Latin percussion here, and somehow it all reads as one coherent sermon rather than a genre patchwork. The super deep, sleepy house soul of The Pheels's 'Be Like That' is class, Al Hype bring some future thinking to 'Basement Bounce' and Ringer's 'MMF' is perfectly meditative and beautiful house for the wee small hours. Elsewhere, Moe BPM brings some lovely retro sounds to the charming 'Steal Ya Magic' and Al Hype' second cut 'FLB' has a nice fresh bounce.
