Arovane's 1999 debut LP appeared in the same German technoid vapours as those by familiar scene-makers Monolake and Dynamo, the latter being the one to run the original DIN label on which Atol Scrap was released. Mr Uwe Zahn would scrape through many an abstract beat-shape here, from the nonlinear introduction 'Nonlin R', suffused underneath with rapid-panned, proto-Autechral metal rustling, to the pensive ambient dub interval 'Scapen Te', which you really gotta listen into to hear the beautiful rhythms within. Pro forma, there's a proto-dubstep banger in there too, 'Revart Amx', and by the sounds of it Vex'd took note.
