Midnights is a pure nostalgic ride through Taylor's career and personal life. It starts with Lavender Haze and ends with Dear Reader. The production of the album is really unique. On your first listen it might sound like a typical pop album but on listening the album on repeat for sometime, you will find out that each song has been crafted in a really unique way with different layers in its production. The instrumentation comprises from synth pop to attenuated voice to lo fi beats to soft production like piano and guitars. For this album, she has taken a lot of inspiration from her previous work and crafted each of her sleepless nights with perfect lyricism suited for the melody and structure of the song. Her vocals have been the main highlight in this album for me. She has tried a lot of new structures in her songs which is truly appreciation worthy. The use of her lower register in songs like Maroon has proved once again that her lower register is superior than other female artists. This is the first album of hers where Jack Antonoff is the main producer. His production along with Aaron Dessner’s on some tracks on the 3 am edition makes the whole album shimmer like an invaluable diamond. This album is a celebration of her career and a token of love for her fans who showed her immense support during all the ups and downs in her life.
